Profile

Professor Katarzyna Cantarero is a social psychologist. She researches how people resolve conflict between honesty and care. She studies dishonest behaviors and categorization of lies (lie-labellig). She is also interested in individual differences in the context of sense-making and the consequences arising from these differences.

She is a member of various international research teams conducting studies in cross-cultural psychology. She was a Principal Investigator in many research projects financed by the National Science Centre or the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

She authored numerous articles published in Polish and international journals, such as Personality and Individual Differences and The Journal of Social Psychology.

In October 2025, Professor Cantarero was appointed President of the Polish Social Psychology Association.

At SWPS University's Faculty of Psychology in Wrocław, she teaches methods of conducting empirical research.
