Profile
Toktam Ghafarian Mabhoot, Ph.D. is a computer engineer and data scientist. As a professor of computer science, she is passionate about using technology to tackle complex challenges and improve the way people live and work.
Her research focuses on four transformative areas, including:
- Cloud Computing: she explores how we can harness the power of the internet to store, manage, and process data more efficiently, as this technology enables everything from seamless video streaming to powering critical business and research systems worldwide.
- Big Data: she is interested in ways we can make sense of the massive amounts of information generated every day, as by analyzing and extracting valuable insights from this data, we can better understand trends, make smarter decisions, and drive innovation in the fields such as healthcare, finance, and beyond.
- Machine Learning: she teaches computers to learn from data and make predictions or decisions without being explicitly programmed. This includes applications like improving AI assistants, detecting patterns in data, and solving real-world problems with intelligent systems.
- Blockchain: she investigates the potential of blockchain technology, which is known for powering cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, to revolutionize areas such as secure data sharing, transparent transactions, and decentralized systems that do not rely on a single authority.
Her research combines these cutting-edge fields to find practical solutions that enhance the digital world and address some of society’s most pressing challenges.
At SWPS University she teaches introduction to programming and programming in C language.
