Dr. Tomasz Lewandowski is a lawyer. He specializes in the protection of personal information, international public law, international humanitarian law of armed conflicts and the philosophy of international law. His interests include the freedom of artistic expression, sovereignty in both international and national law, principles of state participation in international military missions and constitutional regulations regarding the armed forces.
Graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań. Professionally, he provides legal assistance in the field of protection of personal information at one of the most prominent law firms in Poland, SMM Legal Maciak Mataczyński Adwokaci Sp.k.
Author of numerous publications on constitutional law, protection of human rights, international public law, and the protection of personal information. Speaker at national and international conferences. Judge at the prestigious Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Advisor and coach of student teams participating in moot court competitions.
Recipient of research grants, often for international projects, funded by the National Science Center and the European Commission. Winner of scholarships established by the Kulczyk Family Fund and Foundation of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Recipient of the 2017 Special Award in the Rising Stars Lawyers competitions organized by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, a Polich daily devoted to economic and legal matters, and Wolters Kluwer Poland. The competition recognizes young lawyers who excel in their professional and community work.
At SWPS University in Poznań, he teaches international public law and European law, as well as, personal information protection.
