About the Conference
The Department of Asian Studies and the East Asian Civilization Research Center at SWPS University are happy to announce the academic conference "East Asia: Common Heritage, Common Future?" scheduled for September 19-20, 2024, at SWPS University in Warsaw, Poland.
The main goal of the conference is to foster integration within the Polish scholarly community engaged in the study of the East Asian region, particularly in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and political studies. The event will provide an opportunity not only to showcase scholarly achievements but, above all, to engage in profound discussions and exchange opinions among representatives of various humanities and social sciences fields.
The conference will feature six thematic panels:
- Ancient and Modern History
- Religious Traditions
- Social Order
- International Relations
- Culture and the Arts
- Language, Writing, and Literature.
The conference will also include an international session titled Lüshi Chunqiu and the Ideal Ruler in Ancient China, which will bring together leading scholars worldwide. Their presentations will be compiled into a publication centered around this classic Chinese text.
Conference attendance is open to all interested parties and is free of charge. However, registration for the event is required. A registration form will be made available at a later time.
