Mayor of Wrocław Thanks SWPS University for Engagement During Pandemic

The Mayer highlighted the following initiatives:

• the series of online webinars on various aspects of the coronavirus pandemic, which provided everyone, including inhabitants of Wrocław, with an opportunity to productively and creatively spend time during the period of isolation
• the graphic design challenge “People vs. COVID-19” organized by the Department of Graphic Design of SWPS University in Wrocław, in support of the #stayhome initiative, raising awareness about the pandemic, and promoting health behaviors
• the virtual vernissage of the winning posters submitted for the “People vs. COVID-19” design challenge, which provides an opportunity to everyone at any time and place to visit an art gallery without leaving home.

To the Rector of SWPS University, Professor Roman Cieślak,

The fight against the COVID-19 pandemic is an exceptionally difficult and multidimensional challenge for everyone. There is no doubt that in the face of daily difficulties, selfless commitment of many people, companies and institutions to supporting our local communities and helping others is priceless.

I would like to express my gratitude to SWPS University in Wrocław for their engagement and all initiatives undertaken to help conquer the COVID-19 pandemic. I would especially like to thank academic teachers for developing a series of free webinars on various topics, such as personal development and psychology, available to everyone, including the inhabitants of Wrocław, which provided an opportunity to creatively and productively spend time during isolation. I highly appreciate the support for the #stayhome campaign, which encouraged students to self-isolate and study at home. I am very grateful for the graphic design challenge organized by the Department of Graphic Design in Wrocław, which asked participants to create a poster on the topic of COVID-19, and for the organization of the virtual vernissage, which supported the #stayhome and #keepadistance public awareness campaign.

For all these initiatives and all those that remain anonymous, I would like to sincerely thank the Rector of SWPS University, on behalf of the whole Wrocław community, and wish everyone a speedy return to the 'new normal'.
