We are pleased to announce that SWPS University has been ranked as the top university in Poland in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2022, in the social sciences category. This position is a confirmation of our teaching excellence in social and political studies as well as usefulness of our research that results in practical applications, which postively impact policy making, improve daily lives of societies, and help to preserve national heritage.
SWPS University in Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2022
SWPS University has been ranked 1st among 11 Polish universities that offer study programs in the field of social sciences and that have qualified for the ranking. Overall, SWPS University is the only Polish university that has been ranked between 401 and 500, among 870 higher education institutions from around the world. The Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań has placed in the 501-600 bracket, while the remaining nine Polish universities follow in the 601+ group.
Our Institute of Social Sciences oversees and coordinates the activities of three research centers, including the Center for the Study of Democracy, the Center for Research the Economics of Memorial Sites, and Youth Research Center.
SWPS University’s researchers specializing in social sciences represent different sub-disciplines, such as management and quality studies, sociology, politics, as well as administration and public policy studies. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2022 uses the same trusted and rigorous performance indicators as the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the given discipline.
It highlights the universities that are leading across the following disciplines: communication and media studies, politics and international studies (including development studies), sociology and geography.
This year’s social sciences ranking includes 870 universities, up from 791 last year.
