Program

Our English Preparatory School is addressed to people who need to improve their English language skills to enter a university program taught in English.

Assessment and Group Placement

The course starts with a written and oral assessment test. The test helps us put you in the right group for your level of English. Learning at the right level helps you improve quickly and speak with more confidence.

Based on your test results, you will join one of these groups:

  • A1–A2 Level: For beginners with no English skills or very basic skills.
  • B1–C1 Level: For persons with intermediate command of English (at least A2 level). This program helps you reach an advanced level (B2 or higher). It prepares you for entry to university programs taught in English.

LEVEL A1-A2

This level is for beginners with no English or very basic skills. The goal of this program is to give you basic language skills for everyday life. In this course, you will learn to:

  • Speak with others in daily social situations.
  • Listen to and understand basic conversations (comprehension).
  • Read simple texts and information.
  • Write basic messages and notes.
  • Communicate with confidence in an international environment.

Level B1-C1

This level is for intermediate students who need to improve their English to start a degree program at SWPS University. The program focuses on the language and academic skills you need to succeed in your university studies. In this course, you will:

  • Develop advanced English skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
  • Learn basic academic skills needed for university-level study.
  • Practice academic communication to help you progress through your degree.
  • Build confidence by interacting with students in an international environment.

Our Approach to Teaching

We use a modern and practical way of teaching. This helps you improve your English skills quickly.

  • Schedule: Classes are from Monday to Friday
  • Teaching materials: We use Oxford University Press books. The cost of the books is already included in your course fee.
  • Teachers: Each group is taught by two teachers. This helps you hear different accents and experience different ways of teaching.
  • Learning in real situations: Learning with people from different countries gives you the chance to practice your English during and after classes.

Your Progress

  • Tests: We have regular tests to show you how much you are improving and what you need to practice more.
  • Certificate: Earn a language proficiency certificate recognized by universities in Poland (upon successful completion of the final test).

Learn English and Polish

Since you will be living in Poland for a while, you may want to consider enrolling in our English Preparatory School with Polish that offers 600 hours of English and 120 hours of Polish instruction.

Study in the Capital of Poland

Warsaw is the capital of Poland and a city where history meets the modern world. In a single day, you can walk through the historic Old Town, visit modern shopping centers, and take the subway across the river to see the stars at the Copernicus Science Center. During the summer, you can enjoy many free events, such as concerts, outdoor movies, and visits to art galleries and museums. It is an exciting place that respects its past while looking toward the future.
