Join ERUA Digital Hackathon 2025 for a chance to win EUR 2,000

The European Reform University Alliance (ERUA), the North Aegean Regional Development Fund, and the European Digital Innovation Hub for Digital Governance (GR digiGOV-innoHUB) invite students and researchers from the ERUA universities, individuals and technology start-ups, and social entrepreneurs and innovators to join the ERUA Digital Hackathon 2025 — Hack4impact. The goal of the event is to drive digital innovation, public sector reform, and entrepreneurship aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Application deadline is September 28, 2025.

Hack4impact is a digital hackathon that combines entrepreneurship (including social entrepreneurship), digital public sector reforms, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This approach showcases a unique, first-of-its-kind collaboration among the European Reform University Alliance (ERUA), the North Aegean Regional Development Fund and GR DigiGOV-innoHUB.

The main theme of this year’s event is: From Idea to Prototype to Business Creation!

Hack4impact objectives

We anticipate that Hack4impact will not only generate operational prototypes and business ideas, but it will also:

Encourage collaboration between universities, the civil society, and public authorities concerning prototype development and start-up creation
Support implementation of university-led reforms/tools in public services and regional development
Promote digital innovation in regional governance
Provide a launchpad for entrepreneurial business ideas and social entrepreneurship, responding to the SDG implementation, and creative interregional knowledge communities.

Who can participate?

Members of the ERUA community (i.e., students, researchers and administrative staff from the 8 ERUA universities – interdisciplinary, cross-regional teams are encouraged)
Individuals and technology start ups
Teams and individuals who participated in the #ERUAiDeaThon2024 and the Social Entrepreneurship Course (teams with ready-made solutions). If required, the teams will be formed after the initial registration.
Social Entrepreneurs and innovators from all ERUA regions.

Hack4impact Challenges

During the hackathon, participants will be working on the following challenges:

Building tomorrow’s talent economy based on regional skills gaps
Better governance of the public sector through inclusive digital reforms
Inclusive and sustainable development through the implementation of university excellence.
