Anne Kouvonen

Sociologist. She is Professor of Social Policy at the University of Helsinki, Finland. She is also Honorary Lecturer in Social Epidemiology in the UKCRC Centre of Excellence for Public Health at Queen’s University Belfast in Northern Ireland.

Her research focuses on the social determinants of health in relation to employee mental health and socioeconomic inequalities of health. She also studies health-related issues in migrant populations, such as ageing and care and digitalization and social inclusion of migrants. Her research involves the application of social epidemiological methods and administrative record linkage as well as large-scale prospective survey designs and RCTs.

She is an author of a book Part-time Work and Deviant Behaviour Among Finnish Adolescents (2002).

She also published numerous articles in academic journals, such as The International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, BMC Public Health, BMC Open, International Journal of Mental Health Systems, International Journal for Equity in Health.
