Department of New Technologies in Social Applications

Faculty of Design in Warsaw

The Department specializes in the design and practical applications of solutions, which employ new technologies. Head of the Department: Ewelina Smoktunowicz, Ph.D., psychologist specializing in online psychological interventions, in particular apps helping medical professionals to cope with occupational stress.

What we do

Transdisciplinary approach

The Department of New Technologies in Social Applications specializes in the design and practical applications of solutions that employ new technologies, and researches the impact of these technologies on individuals and society.

Zespół charakteryzuje się transdyscyplinarnym podejściem w realizacji swoich przedsięwzięć, uwzględniając perspektywę psychologiczną, socjologiczną, kulturową, prawną, projektową oraz etyczną. Realizowane inicjatywy obejmują również projekty wdrożeniowe oraz popularyzacyjne w obszarze nowych technologii.

Members of the team use transdisciplinary approach in their projects, taking into consideration not only the design aspects but also psychological, sociological, cultural, legal, and ethical ones. Their initiatives also include practical applications of their research and popularization of new technologies.
