Profile
Stefan Bieńkowski is a research fellow in the RaM-CLASS project carried out by SWPS University’s Youth Research Center and a doctoral student at the Social Sciences Doctoral School of the University of Warsaw.
He graduated from the College of Inter-area Individual Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences (MISH) of the University of Warsaw, with a Master’s diploma in sociology. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Warsaw. As an artist, he specializes in various forms of printmaking and critical art.
As a sociologist, he is interested in the job market, inequalities of employment, and activities of social institutions. He researchers employment changes, and the phenomenon of precariat, in particular in the non-standard employment sector, such as caregiving, reproductive work, and contract employment. Outside of SWPS University, he also carries out qualitative and user experience (UX) research in the consumer behavior sector.
Stefan is a recipient of the 2024 scholarship provided by the Warsaw Observatory of Culture to carry out a project “A break or a breakthrough? Supporting the development of artists and researchers”.
He published articles in the Qualitative Sociology Review and the Survey Research Methods.
