Professor Damian Grabowski is a psychologist specializing in work and organizational psychology as well as social psychology, including political and cultural psychology. He is also interested in psychology of individual differences.
He researches work motivation and commitment as well as work ethics understood as a system of beliefs that includes work evaluation and aversion to wasting time. In particular, he investigates how these beliefs impact the ability to cope with stress, sense of coherence, loyalty towards organizations, professional burnout, and professional engagement understood as identification with one’s responsibilities as well as immersion in one’s duties, employee enthusiasm, and devotion to work.
His latest study concerns tendency to unethical behavior in organizations, in particular unethical activities geared towards organizational gain (unethical pro-organizational behavior). He is also interested in psychological determinants underlying one’s sense of justice and work addiction as well as correlation between religiousness and work ethics, commitment, and prevention of harassment.
Professor Grabowski authored numerous publications, including a book on work ethics. He co-adapted three tools for researching work ethics, work motivation, and religious zeal.
As a specialist in organizational psychology, Professor Grabowski offers assessment and consulting services for entrepreneurs. He is experienced in conducting psycho-social assessment of organizations and diagnosis of harassment in organizations.
At SWPS University in Katowice, he teaches classes in psychology of individual differences, political psychology, methodology and statistics. He is also a Master’s thesis advisor.
