About the Masterclass

Join us for an exclusive event exploring one of the most pressing topics in mental health today: hoarding, or the excessive accumulation of objects. Recognized as a distinct disorder in the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), hoarding presents siginificant challenges in diagnosis and treatment. In this masterclass, world-renowned clinical psychologist and cognitive-behavioral therapy expert, Professor Paul Salkovskis, will introduce an innovative approach to understanding and addressing this complex issue.

Meet the Masterclass Leader

Paul Salkovskis
Professor
Paul Salkovskis
Professor Paul Salkovskis is a leading expert in clinical psychology and cognitive-behavioral therapy. He qualified as a clinical psychologist in 1979 at the Institute of Psychiatry and Maudsley Hospital. Over his career, he has held various academic and clinical positions, including Professor of Cognitive Psychology at the University of Oxford and Scientific and Applied Science and Clinical Director at the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma at King’s College London. He is currently a Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Bath, where he leads a specialist anxiety disorder clinic and serves as the Program Director for the Clinical Psychology Doctorate Program. Professor Salkovskis has authored over 400 scientific publications and received many prestigious awards, including the MB Shapiro Prize for Distinction in Clinical Psychology and the Aaron T. Beck award for his contributions to cognitive therapy. He is a dedicated advocate for mental health and a patron of several obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety charities. He also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy. His expertise spans working with patients experiencing hoarding, OCD, and other anxiety disorders, as well as training professionals in psychotherapy.
