Social change is a collaborative endeavor shaped by our daily actions, beliefs, and values we live by.
About the Conference
Join us at the Social Innovations conference at SWPS University. You will not just have an opportunity to listen but also to actively shape the event. The conference serves as a platform that brings together academics, practitioners, NGO employees, and representatives of the business community and public sector. Our aim is to deepen the understanding of current social challenges and seek solutions together. We encourage participants to share their knowledge and draw inspiration from the diverse ecosystem of social innovation.
This year, we are taking a different approach to the traditional conference format. We are focusing on the exchange of ideas and workshop engagement. We aim to captivate our audience not only through words but also through images. The conference program features lectures, workshops, panel discussions, and an exhibition showcasing socially engaged art.
While most sessions will be conducted in Polish, the one dedicated to student projects will be held in English. We invite students from all SWPS University campuses and other institutions to submit their ideas for social innovation projects. We encourage you to present your work and participate in the second day of the conference. You will find all the details of the Call for Student Projects below.

Call for Student Projects
We encourage the submission of practical solutions aimed at improving the quality of life for people, animals, and the environment. Student projects can address issues such as:
- Social exclusion, e.g., individuals with disabilities, neurodiverse, and neuroatypical individuals
- Poverty and homelessness
- Development of social entrepreneurship
- Social inequality
- Unemployment
- Discrimination (based on gender, age, race, sexual orientation, nationality, among others)
- Women's civil rights (including the right to protest, equal treatment in the workplace, professional promotions)
- Situation of refugees and migrants (crises, violence against refugees, humanitarian actions)
- Involvement in NGO activities
- Empowering children and youth from dysfunctional families
- Corporate social responsibility
- Educational activities aimed at socially excluded groups (e.g., seniors, people with disabilities, the homeless)
- Social integration of ethnic and national minorities
- Promoting diversity in civil society (based on gender, age, race, sexual orientation, religion, worldview, nationality)
- Violence and pedophilia (including within families, institutions, sects, informal groups, religious associations)
- Creating an inclusive culture in society
- Facilitating access to new technologies for marginalized groups
- Empowering women's entrepreneurship
- Challenges to democracy
- Impact of the arts on social challenges
- Improvement of the quality of healthcare institutions
- Fostering social innovation among students
Student teams are invited to submit their projects for consideration in the competition. To participate, prepare a PowerPoint presentation comprising 8-10 slides. Your presentation should include the following elements:
- Description of the defined social problem
- Analysis of current solutions and gaps in addressing the problem worldwide
- Proposed solution to the social problem
- Business model detailing implementation, financing, and project development
The deadline for submitting projects is May 15, 2024.
You can submit your project using the form below.
The competition is open to students from all SWPS University campuses, as well as other institutions. A panel of judges will evaluate each submission and select a maximum of 10 projects for inclusion in the conference.
If your project is chosen, you will have the opportunity to present it during the conference in a thematic session dedicated to student projects. Each presentation will consist of a 3-minute elevator pitch followed by 2 minutes for questions from the jury.
A joint meeting for all student session participants will be held during the conference, providing an excellent networking opportunity.
We will provide all the details regarding presentation time, competition rules, presentation order, session format, and evaluation criteria in the official announcement/invitation to the conference.
We eagerly anticipate your submissions and are excited to witness the innovative solutions you propose to address social challenges. Stay tuned for updates on the submission process and competition guidelines.
