Diverse range of offered courses
The rich and diversified curriculum of our psychology degree programme, which offers a choice of specializations, allows us to tailor the learning process to our students' individual interests and career plans. Graduates have the opportunity to continue their education by taking advantage of our professional training courses.
We train clinical psychologists, personal development counsellors, and forensic psychologists. We also prepare our students to work in business, public and private sector organizations and NGOs. Our students learn to undertake community-based interventions and discover the psychological mechanisms governing coaching, marketing and PR.

According to the ranking of higher education institutions published by the "Perspektywy" magazine, SWPS University is one of the two best universities in Poland offering studies in the field of psychology.

Psychocriminalistics - an innovative field of study
Among others, we offer interdisciplinary studies in psychocriminalistics combining knowledge and skills from five fields: psychology, forensic science, law, sociology and pedagogy. Most of the classes taught within that field are workshops which allows students to develop practical skills necessary in working with people in difficult situations. In this degree programme, students learn directly from outstanding professionals in clinical psychology, forensic psychology, and law.
Specialisation studies in clinical psychology
We are the only institution of higher learning in Silesia licensed to conduct specialization studies in clinical psychology for holders of MA degrees in psychology in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of Health on obtaining the title of specialist in health care professions.
Positive assessment by the PKA
Our psychology studies have received a positive evaluation of the Polish Accreditation Committee which supervises the education process in all Polish universities. The committee recognised in particular the cooperation undertaken by the faculty with the socio-economic and cultural environment, activities for the benefit of the local community and the participation of representatives of business and institutions in the process of improving curricula.
European teaching standards
The curriculum of our psychology studies is adjusted to the European standards of teaching psychology and meets the requirements of the EuroPsy European Certificate in Psychology, which in many European countries serves as the benchmark for psychology practitioners and regulates access to the profession.

Students learn from professionals who combine academic work with professional practice. The classes are conducted, among others, by professor Augustyn Bańka - a researcher studying the influence of the environment on people, professor Józef Krzysztof Gierowski - an expert in psychiatry and law, dr Danuta Rode - an expert in clinical and forensic psychology, dr Bogdan Lach - an investigative psychologist and profiler, and dr Beata Kozak - a personal development coach and trainer working for international corporations, dr Anna Hełka - a business psychologist, dr Damian Grabowski - an occupational psychologist, dr Agata Chudzicka-Czupała - an expert in the psychology of work and a social psychologist.
