SWPS University in Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2024
This year’s Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) includes 500 universities from all over the world that conduct research and offer study programs in the field of psychology. The ranking lists universities that have published at least 100 scientific publications between 2019 and 2023.
SWPS University ranked between 301 and 400, securing second place among Polish universities, together with the University of Warsaw. We received the most points in the “High Quality Research” category and are the national leader in this respect.

Psychology at SWPS University: Excellence in research
SWPS University is one of Poland's most active research universities. Psychology is our strongest field of expertise, comprising more than 60 percent of our academic output in English, and securing the majority of our research grants.
Our Institute of Psychology comprises 22 research centers and over 130 researchers specializing in various areas of psychology.
High-quality psychology teaching
Our university is the leading higher education institution in Poland offering degree programs in psychology. We currently offer six English-language Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in four cities: Warsaw, Sopot, Wrocław and Kraków.

About Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects
ShanghaiRanking started publishing global university rankings by academic subjects in 2009. In 2017, they launched the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), which uses an improved methodology to evaluate the performance of universities in 55 subjects across natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences.
The ranking is based on bibliometric data collected from Web of Science and InCites. The universities are assessed based on a range of objective academic indicators grouped in five categories, including:

- High Quality Research
- Research Impact
- International Collaboration
In total, this year's ranking includes over 1,900 universities from 96 countries and regions.
