Strong debut: First in Poland in sociology
SWPS University appears in the sociology category of the Shanghai GRAS for the first time this year—and immediately takes first place among Polish universities. Only two other institutions from Poland were included in this field: Jagiellonian University and the University of Warsaw.
The 2025 ranking lists 300 universities worldwide in sociology, and SWPS University is ranked between 150 and 200.
SWPS University has achieved the highest score in Poland for key indicators: World-Class Faculty and International Collaboration. The results reflect the strong global engagement of SWPS University researchers and the growing visibility of the university's sociological research.
Continued excellence in psychology
In the psychology category, SWPS University maintains its strong position, ranking 2nd–3rd in Poland, alongside the University of Wrocław.
We received the highest score nationwide for High-Quality Research, measured by the number of publications in top-tier (Q1) scientific journals.
Our stable position in psychology and strong entry in the sociology subject ranking reflect the success of our long-term strategy for internationalization and our commitment to the highest scientific quality. The high position in the Shanghai Ranking, with its strongly research-oriented criteria, provides significant external confirmation of the quality of our research and the high level of our academic staff. With over 20,000 universities worldwide, merely entering the subject ranking already signifies a strong global standing.
