Faculty of Design
in Warsaw
The Faculty of Design in Warsaw offers three study programs representing different disciplines, i.e., art – Design (School of Form), sciences – Computer Science, and social sciences – Psychology and Computer Sciences. The Design and Computer Science programs are offered in English, while Psychology and Computer Science in Polish. Thanks to our expert faculty that includes researchers and experienced practitioners we have developed truly interdisciplinary programs that use modern approach to teaching.

Teaching
Our undergraduate programs, which are focused on practical skills, have been developed in cooperation with business experts, international academic community, SWPS University’s business and community partners, and the design and technology sectors. These collaborations are also an integral part of our teaching approach. Thanks to SWPS University’s excellent infrastructure, our students can hone their skills in specialized studios and workshops, and study comfortably at the well-stocked library.
School of Form – Design Program
We launched our Design program in 2011, at SWPS University in Poznań. In 2020, we moved to Warsaw. The program was initiated by SWPS University’s Founder, Piotr Voelkel, in collaboration with Lidewij Edelkoort, a world-renowned trend forecaster and long-standing Director of the Design Academy Eindhoven.
Human-Centered Design
School of Form offers an innovative, interdisciplinary program that combines practical design skills with human-centered reflection on individuals and the society. Our students have at their disposal several state-of-the-art studios and workshops, where they learn not only traditional arts and crafts, such as pottery, woodworking, and sewing, but also new technologies, digital tools, robotics and coding.
We offer a 4-year full-time program in English as well as 4-year full-time and part-time programs in Polish. At the end of the first year of studies, students choose one of two specializations – communication design or product design.

Computer Science
Our Computer Science program teaches theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the following areas: fundamentals of computer science and mathematics, programming, algorithms, and computational complexity theory. Our students also become familiar with the latest information technologies, learn how to design and build innovative information processing systems and how to program in the most popular programming languages that are used in numerous sectors of industry and academia, for example in medicine, phenomena modelling, social process forecasting, natural language processing, machine learning, and data analysis. Thanks to their theoretical knowledge and practical skills concerning the tools of the trade, such as protocols, libraries, and frameworks, our graduates are well prepared to enter the job market.
Our students also learn about responsibility of computer science specialists in the face of global problems and threats posed by technological development. Therefore, once they graduate, they are capable of solving social problems using digital tools, and the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies.
Computer labs and professional tools
Our students have ten computer labs at their disposal. The labs are linked in a high capacity network with direct access to Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. The computers have access to cloud computing resources, including virtual machines, data storage, data bases, big data computing, and serverless services.
We offer a 3.5 year full-time program in English and Polish.

Psychology and Computer Science
Our Psychology and Computer Science program, offered in Polish, combines knowledge from two disciplines – psychology and information technology. It also teaches analytical skills, which are indispensable in meeting the needs of individuals and the society.
Unique program of study
We have developed this program in response to the demand of the job market, which needs specialists who, thanks to their background in psychology, understand social and cultural processes, and can also use analytical digital tools. We ensure that our students do not learn in a vacuum. Our program is aligned with the demands posed by the current societal problems and global threats, especially those arising from the rapid technological development.
We offer a 3.5-year full-time and part-time program in Polish. During the third semester, students can choose one of three specializations:
- UX Research
- Artificial Intelligence
- E-health: Online Interventions

Modern infrastructure
Our School of Form (i.e., the Design program offered by the Faculty of Design) provides close to 2,000 square meters of unique space, equipped to make any creative ideas become a reality. Our professional studios and workshops, where students learn practical skills, are open 6 days a week. Additionally, students can also work in the studios and workshops in their spare time, outside of their regular classes.
The several studios and workshops are spread across four levels of our building. They include: a ceramics studio, screenprinting and drawing studio, photo-video studio, a sewing workshop, prototyping studio with woodworking and metalwork equipment, numerical machines workshop equipped with laser cutters and 3D printers, a robotics studio housing two Kuka robots, and a space for model making.
Our Computer Science students also have dedicated computer labs to develop their skills. The labs are linked in a high capacity network and are equipped with Mac and PC computers.
