Studies in design
We run degree courses in design, information technology as well as psychology with computer science. We offer modern educational programmes prepared in cooperation with experts from the business, design and technology sectors and the international academic community.
School of Form
After eight years of operation, we decided to move our studies from the Poznań campus of SWPS University to Warsaw - Poland’s major hub for design and creative industries. Our presence on the main campus - the headquarters for psychology, cultural studies, management and law, which are of interest for designers and provide tools to support their work, establishes a platform for development and opportunities for collaboration with a diverse team of researchers, teachers and practitioners.
High external ratings
The curriculum was awarded in a 2012 competition organised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for the best educational programme implemented in accordance with the National Qualification Framework, and in 2016 it received a positive assessment by the Polish Accreditation Committee.
Highest standards of teaching
Design studies are interdisciplinary, with an original educational concept that combines design knowledge with expertise in the humanities and social sciences. The programme is recognized both within the Polish and international design community. Over the years, more than 200 undergraduate and graduate students completed our studies and moved on to successfully pursue their design careers or continue their education in the best Polish and foreign universities.
Modern infrastructure
Our students have at their disposal a rich infrastructure in the new part of the building which has been especially adapted to their needs. On an area of almost 2000 square metres, they can take advantage of a pottery studio, a carpentry workshop, a digital lab, a sewing workshop, a drawing workshop, a dyeing and screen printing workshop, a modelling studio, as well as a dedicated space for students to work in, several computer labs and a space for lecturers.
Psychology with computer science
The programme of psychology with computer science innovatively combines marketable analytical and professional competencies in various areas with psychological and technological knowledge and skills, providing a basis for understanding behavior in a rapidly evolving society saturated with modern technologies.
Innovative curriculum
The curriculum is designed to meet the job market demand for specialists with IT competencies, social skills and knowledge, as well as an understanding of cultural processes. An important part of the program is the attention given to contemporary problems of humanity and global threats, as well as their relationship with new technologies and the growing needs of users.
The studies are addressed to graduates of general secondary schools and technical secondary schools who are interested in psychological, cultural and social issues, and are also open to new technologies.
Information technology
Our students learn not only about the most popular programming languages, but also the latest IT technologies related to artificial intelligence or data analysis which are part of statistical learning systems used in many areas of science and technology, such as in medicine (e.g. recognition of pathological ECG signals), modeling social phenomena, forecasting social processes (e.g. crime), geology (e.g. determination of functional approximation of layers) or natural language processing. With knowledge of the tools and protocols, libraries and frameworks, they are fully prepared for the job market.
Professional infrastructure
Our students have at their disposal computer laboratories connected to a high bandwidth network with direct access to Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, including the use of virtual machines, data storage and performing calculations on large data sets (big data), as well as serverless services or databases.
