Maciej Szymczyk, a long-time participant in the Leadership LAB development and research project carried out under the auspices of SWPS University’s Department of Management, founded the SalesPatriot start-up. This innovative platform is designed to streamline the contract acquisition process for American defense companies.
About SalesPatriot
SalesPatriot is an innovative software that helps American defense manufacturers secure contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense. The platform accelerates the process of identifying lucrative contracts and provides access to market analytics.
The start-up has the potential to enhance international security and help prevent future armed conflicts. According to Maciej Szymczyk, co-founder of the project, the war in Ukraine was a direct impulse for creating this platform.
The war in Ukraine has shown that the idea of eternal peace and the so-called "end of history" is an illusion. Tyrants will always exist, and the only way to ensure the security of democratic societies is to develop defense capabilities that deter potential aggressors. I believe that by enhancing the production capabilities of the U.S. and NATO’s arms sector, we can maintain the dominance that is currently threatened by China and Russia.

Maciej Szymczyk in the Leadership LAB Project
Since 2019, SWPS University has been running the Leadership LAB project, which supports young leaders and facilitates their personal development. The program is led by Dr. Włodzimierz Świątek, a business psychologist and lecturer in the Management and Leadership program at SWPS University. Maciej Szymczyk was under his mentorship for three years. He quickly gained recognition among the project leaders and was also honored at the 2023 Acts of Leadership Award gala.
Maciej Szymczyk became my mentee through the Leadership LAB project at SWPS University when he was a 15-year-old high school student. He actively participated in our “Spread Your Wings and Fly” workshop series. Together with his colleague Adam Siemiątkowski, he presented the startup project SPECTUM to my students. From the moment I met him during the workshops, I noticed his exceptional talent and creativity. Even then, he was interested in new technologies and innovative AI-driven solutions. As his mentor, I admired his exceptional diligence, ingenuity and perseverance in pursuing his goals. I will never forget that moving moment when he and Adam received the prestigious “Young Rising Innovator” distinction at the final gala of the 3rd edition of the Acts of Leadership Award. This recognition, as he later told me, was a powerful motivation for him to continue his development.

As part of the SPECTUM project, Szymczyk and Siemiątkowski developed an algorithm that speeds up the diagnosis of breast cancer malignancy. Their work was recognized for its innovation. The competition jury also highlighted that the creators of this application can serve as role models for the young generation.
I am confident that Maciej will continue to develop beautifully and achieve further success. His projects and outstanding accomplishments are a source of inspiration for both his peers and my students.
