Join us for another meeting in the Next Generation Club series organized by SWPS University’s Department of Graphic Design. This time we will host Donald Norman – a pioneer in human-centered design and author of influential books, such as Design of Everyday Things and Design for a Better World.
Donald Norman: Expert in human-computer interaction
Donald Norman is not only an author and researcher, but also a practitioner who has significantly influenced the development of design and usability. He is the one who popularized the concept of user experience. His cooperation with companies such as Apple, Hewlett-Packard and Nielsen Norman Group has forever changed the way we think about human interaction with technology. In recognition of his contributions, the Don Norman Design Award (DNDA) was established in 2024 to honor outstanding achievements in human-centered design.
During the meeting, we will address key questions, such as:
- How has the approach to design changed over the past decades and what are the current challenges in this field?
- How can design contribute to creating a better world and what role will the user play in this process?
- How will the new approach to design affect business and education?
Join us for an interesting discussion with Donald Norman about the fundamental transition of the approach from human-centered design to humanity-centered design.
The meeting will be conducted in English.
