The end crowns the work
At School of Form, the process of preparing the graduation project is a year-long endeavor, but it really begins from the first day of study. The four-year program is meticulously arranged to develop the skills, knowledge, and sensitivity needed for the ambitious final project. The graduates view themselves as agents of change, challenging the status quo and striving to build a better world. Before creating something new, they must first understand the existing designs. They study the context, consumer needs, and project limitations to identify untapped opportunities for innovation. This year's Graduation Show proves that although almost everything has already been designed, it can be designed differently.
Tackling today's challenges and designing a sustainable future
School of Form graduates have designed projects that are both eye-catching and socially conscious. The themes they explore are as diverse as the students themselves — from an introspective reflection on belonging to a celebration of their cultural heritage. They delve into topics close to their hearts and reflect their worldview, touching on issues like overconsumption and sustainability. Their creations are not only visually impressive but also embody the spirit of environmentalism by using recycled materials and innovative techniques to reduce their impact on the planet. Through their work, the students invite the viewer to contemplate the fleeting nature of memory and the uncertain future that awaits us all.
Where abstract meets pragmatic
At this year's exhibition, young artists' creativity takes on many forms. Some designs offer practical solutions that nurture both body and spirit, while others explore the abstract, challenge the viewer's perception and encourage them to ask questions and search for answers.
Some highlights of the exhibition include:
- Pillows filled with fragrant seasonal herbs, helping to promote a peaceful and restful night's sleep
- A foot massager that soothes tired feet and calms the mind
- A book with moving parts, inspiring reflection on the human body
- A series of posters that confront and satirize the idea of the so-called "gender monster" – the modern-day bogeyman
- A poetic metaphor of memories represented as balloons that gradually fade and distort over time
- A stool that doubles as a cat house, playfully combining function and form
- Objects that challenge traditional design conventions and serve as a commentary on the imperfections of urban spaces
- A film exploring the hopes and aspirations of sixteen School of Form students
