We are proud to announce that Professor Agata Gąsiorowska from SWPS University has been elected President of the International Association for Research in Economic Psychology (IAREP). The organization brings together people who want to deepen their knowledge in the field of economic psychology.
About IAREP
IAREP is an international association of people interested in the areas where psychology and economics intersect. The activities of this organization include:
- organizing annual conferences for researchers and policy makers interested in cross-disciplinary work in psychology and economics,
- managing the Journal of Economic Psychology,
- publishing a bi-annual newsletter giving news about activities in economic psychology and related fields,
- supporting graduate Summer Schools in economic psychology,
- supporting Workshops on special topics in economic psychology.
I have been associated with IAREP since 2008 – this is an environment that has inspired me academically for years and has been an important element of my development. I treat taking up the position of President of this organization not only as a personal distinction, but also as the culmination of many years of commitment of the entire Polish community of researchers in economic psychology. For years, we have been actively involved in the life of IAREP – I served as treasurer in 2017–2020, and secretary in 2014–2017, Professor Tomasz Zaleśkiewicz from SWPS University was secretary in 2010–2014, and Professor Tadeusz Tyszka from KU (Kozminski University) already served as President in 1991–1992. I am glad that our joint work for the development of this field has been noticed and appreciated.
