Dr. Marzena Cypryańska-Nezlek from SWPS University’s Faculty of Psychology in Warsaw has been appointed a European Climate Pact Ambassador. This distinction is awarded to individuals dedicated to supporting climate policy and implementing eco-friendly solutions.
A network of climate leaders
As the head of the Center for Climate Action and Social Transformations (4CAST), Dr. Marzena Cypryańska-Nezlek brings a wealth of experience to her new role as a certified EU Climate Pact Ambassador. She’s been recognized for her commitment to taking environmental actions.
European Climate Pact Ambassadors are carefully selected individuals whose goal is to support climate actions in their communities and networks. They share similar values and, most importantly, put them into practice. Their role is to:
- spread awareness about the causes of climate change and its impact,
- inspire people to learn more about the climate and encourage citizens, organizations and governments to take environmental action,
- develop and implement eco-friendly solutions,
- connect with like-minded individuals who want to maximize the impact of these solutions.
The first meeting of the ambassadors will take place from March 18-20 in Brussels.
Marzena Cypryańska-Nezlek: Expert on the psychological effects of climate change
Dr. Marzena Cypryańska-Nezlek is a social psychologist specializing in positive psychology. Currently, she researches climate action, perceptions and attitudes towards climate change, and the social and psychological impact of global warming. She also examines the correlations between emotional reactions to threat, preventive behavior, and strategies for coping with threats.

In addition, Dr. Cypryańska-Nezlek is the founder of the Center for Climate Action and Social Transformations (4CAST). Its goal is to establish an interdisciplinary platform for academics and communities to develop innovative and effective solutions for societies, in response to the challenges arising from global climate change.
