Essential information at your fingertips
There seem to be apps for almost everything these days, from ordering food to making doctor's appointments. Young people nowadays are accustomed to living on the go and managing their lives via their phones. Therefore, more and more universities create mobile apps. SWPS University students also expressed the need for this type of software.
The "My SWPS University" mobile app will provide easier access to class schedules, enable students to quickly check their grades, conveniently communicate with lecturers or submit requests to the Center for Student Affairs. The app will be available in English and Polish.
To develop and implement the app SWPS University received a grant of PLN 400,000 (over EUR 85,300) from the “Welcome to Poland” fund, provided by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). Students will be able to use the app in 2023.
Mobile app and user training
The grant will finance not only the implementation of the mobile app, but also a series of workshops for the university staff. Forty employees of the Center for Student Affairs and the Office for Accessibility, Scholarships and Student Activity will be trained on relationship development in cross-cultural environment and on anti-discrimination policies. Additionally, twenty employees, members of the app project team, will undergo UX (User Experience) training, which will focus on mobile solutions tailored to cross-cultural environments.
