Does corporate plan always have to be expressed in KPIs (key performance indicators)? How does leadership influence change management? What is more crucial for business success: culture or strategy? If you are interested in finding the answers to these and similar questions, be sure to participate in an online lecture by Jens Ocksen, a former CEO of Volkswagen Poznań.
Planning in the ever-changing world
We live in a VUCA world – volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. Although the acronym derives from the American military jargon, it is now commonly used in business administration and management. The challenges posed by VUCA often seem daunting. However, managers and companies can work out ways to overcome such difficulties.
Jens Ocksen is an engineer-planner by profession, a production manager by experience, and a specialist in corporate culture and modern leadership by passion. He was a long-standing manager at Volkswagen Group and the CEO of Volkswagen Poznań. If you ever wondered how to plan ahead for the number of car sales in a world where conflict can break out overnight, he is the expert to ask.
During his online lecture on Strategy based on leaders and trust, Mr. Ocksen will explain how the interaction between strategy, structure, and culture affects a company’s vision. He will also discuss change management, drawing on the example of Volkswagen. The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session.
This is the first meeting in a new series of lectures on organizational culture and modern leadership organized by the Committee for the Internationalization of the Faculty of Social Sciences in Warsaw. The series will feature acclaimed entrepreneurs and business professionals, who will share the latest knowledge and expertise from the field of global management with students.
