From objects of everyday use made of plywood production waste to prints and screen-printed T-shirts: young designers from our School of Form showcase their work along the corridors of SWPS University in Warsaw.
School of Form x Paged Sklejka
The main idea behind this exhibition is to indicate that a designer should learn to see post-production waste as a resource. As a result of a collaboration between School of Form (SoF) and Paged Sklejka (plywood manufacturer), second and fourth-year SoF students had a chance to verify if plywood scraps can become something more than an unnecessary bi-product. Therefore, young designers tried their hands at applied arts. They faced the limitations of form and material and made, among others, tables, flower pots, panels, and even acoustic screens using woodchips, log ends, and other leftovers. One of the student groups created a plywood stool project using CNC (computer numerical control) technology. The objects are exhibited in the corridors of SWPS University in Warsaw.

Hello, World!
Prints and screen-printed T-shirts featured in this exhibition were designed by the Ukrainian SoF students in March during workshops with Natalia Syniepupova and Anna Pogorelova from the School of Visual Communication in Kyiv. Some of the works created during those workshops have been sold during a charity auction held by the School of Form. The proceeds went to SWPS University’s Pro Akademika Foundation.
However, several prints and T-shirts are available for sale (via the Dean’s Office at the Faculty of Design in Warsaw). All the profits will support the Ukrainian community suffering from the war.
