In July 2022, SWPS University and Tischner European University (TEU) began a gradual process of integration. As a result, SWPS University took control over the European Certification Center (ECC) company (Europejskie Centrum Certyfikacji Sp. z o.o.), which fulfills the formal role of Tischner European University’s founder. The parties signed a formal agreement on August 31st. It is the first step toward establishing a new SWPS University campus in Kraków, in the future. These changes will provide new opportunities for faculty, students, and partners of both institutions.
New management of Tischner European University
As a result of the agreement between SWPS University and TEU, a new management board of ECC has been appointed, where the Rector of SWPS University, Professor Roman Cieślak, holds the position of President of ECC, while Dr. Ewa Ger, Director General of SWPS University, and Piotr Voelker, the Founder of SWPS University, are Vice-Presidents.
Plans to open a new SWPS University campus in Kraków
The gradual integration of the two institutions will result in TEU becoming the 6th location of SWPS University (following Warsaw, Wrocław, Poznań, Katowice, and Sopot). SWPS University will seek approval from the Ministry of Education and Science to offer study programs in psychology in Kraków, as of the 2023/2024 academic year. Meanwhile, as soon as the upcoming academic year, our university will launch graduate certificate programs at its new location.
The ongoing integration of the two universities will not affect the TEU’s education offer in the upcoming academic year, and students will begin their programs as planned.
