A Visionary Creator
Magdalena Pińczyńska, Ph.D./Associate Professor, is an experienced academic. In 2003, she graduated with honors from the Faculty of Interior Design at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, where she later began her teaching career. She obtained her doctoral degree in Fine Arts from The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw in 2008, and in 2017, she completed her post-doctoral degree (habilitacja) in Fine Arts in the field of design.
She has spearheaded numerous projects for esteemed institutions, including the National Museum in Kraków, the National Centre for Film Culture in Łódź, the Manggha Museum in Kraków, and well-known brands such as Vichy, Nutricia, Nestle, and House.
Her works have been widely exhibited across Poland and abroad, including renowned venues like DMY Berlin, Designers' Open Leipzig, VIII Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art in Uzbekistan, Arch Inside International Exhibition of Architecture Design, Interior Design and Applied Art in Greece, Łódź Design Festival, Long Night of Museums in Kraków, Krakers Cracow Art Week, International Biennale of Interior Design in Kraków, Artline EU in Sweden, Razklon Gallery in Bulgaria, Circulo de Bellas Artes de Tenerife.
She is an exhibition curator, juror, and organizer of international student competitions and workshops. She is also a frequent competition winner. Between 2012 and 2016, she played a crucial role in co-founding and organizing the Patchlab Digital Art Festival.
Driven by a fascination with the coexistence of opposites, she integrates experimental elements into her design process. Her projects aim to inspire users to foster social innovation and engage in cultural reflection. The central idea behind her artistic pursuits is to create environments, objects, or situations as relays for meaningful experiences.
About the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies in Kraków
Kraków is the latest addition to the expanding network of SWPS University campuses, which already includes Warsaw, Wrocław, Poznań, Katowice, and Sopot. Our Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies in Kraków seamlessly integrates fine arts with humanities and social sciences. We offer diverse interdisciplinary programs in Polish focusing on the development of graphic design, multimedia, digital art, game design, and management skills. As we continue to expand, we plan to introduce additional programs in English.
We encourage our students to embrace a holistic perspective on the human condition by fostering courage and critical thinking in contemporary art and cultural discourse. Our faculty prioritizes experimentation, innovation, and forward-thinking approaches to anticipate and address future challenges.
