BETTER4U – Preventing obesity through Biologically and bEhaviorally Tailored inTERventions for you
The aim of the BETTER4U project is to create an assessment tool that determines an individual’s risk of obesity and weight regain following weight loss. The researchers will carefully analyze several factors related to metabolism, behavior, and genetics that may contribute to overweight. Furthermore, they will develop a personalized intervention program that incorporates artificial intelligence. The program will provide personalized health advice to individuals based on their unique qualities and specific requirements.
28 institutions from across Europe are involved in conducting this research project. The total budget is EUR 11.3 million, with SWPS University receiving nearly EUR 425,000 in funding.
OBCT – Biological, socioCultural, and environmental risk Trajectories
The OBCT project is focused on preventing and reducing obesity in European communities with low socioeconomic status. Researchers aim to create screening tools to assess the risk of obesity within specific communities. Furthermore, they will develop an atlas that highlights areas at risk. Additionally, they will create instruments enabling local authorities to plan and implement policies for reducing the prevalence of obesity.
This project will follow a participatory approach, actively involving representatives from local communities, authorities, and NGOs at each stage of the work.
The project consortium comprises 12 institutions and organizations from across Europe. The total budget for the project amounts to EUR 10.5 million, with SWPS University receiving nearly EUR 366,000 in funding.
CARE-BEH Center for Applied Research on Health Behavior and Health
The CARE-BEH team researches the relationship between psychological health and psychical well-being. They aim to identify the psychosocial factors that influence the adoption and maintenance of behaviors that promote good health and prevent individuals from reverting to old habits. Moreover, they work on developing psychological interventions enhancing the quality of life of people with chronic illnesses.
