Times Higher Education Award for SWPS University
For the fifth consecutive year, SWPS University has secured a place in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. This year, we retained our position as the leading institution in Poland in the social sciences category. We share the top position with the Jagiellonian University and the University of Warsaw. Furthermore, we secured second place in Poland among higher education institutions that provide psychology programs, alongside Jagiellonian University. Overall, SWPS University has again placed between 1001 and 1200 in THE World University Rankings.

Top universities in Poland and Ukraine, featured in the latest rankings edition, have been recognized with the Times Higher Education Award. The official ceremony was an integral part of the LUMEN 2023 Conference, organized by PCG Academia, Times Higher Education, and the Polish Rectors Foundation.
LUMEN Conference: navigating modern higher education
The LUMEN 2023 Conference, spanning two days, featured 10 panel discussions, 12 presentations, and contributions from 45 speakers from Poland and abroad. Over 250 attendees engaged in this significant event, including university leaders and representatives from key higher education institutions and companies.
On day one, SWPS University's Rector, Professor Roman Cieślak, discussed the impact and trajectory of changes, marking five years since implementing the Polish Law on Higher Education and Science. Day two covered topics such as artificial intelligence, recent legislative shifts affecting Polish universities, and the strategic use of European funds to advance higher education. Tomasz Jałukowicz, Director of the Education Administration Office at SWPS University, shared insights during a panel discussion on scientific data reporting.
Additionally, the conference welcomed the rectors of five prominent Ukrainian universities as honored guests. They discussed the reconstruction of the Ukrainian educational system and strategies for rebuilding it, focusing on the impact of the war on the state of education in Ukraine.
