InterNational Academy of Dispute Resolution
A group of lawyers, judges, professors and experienced mediation professionals established the International Academy of Dispute Resolution (INADR) in 2002. The Academy aims to raise general awareness of mediation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
INADR pursues its mission through educational activities, including organizing mediation tournaments for law students. The largest and oldest competition of its kind is the annual International Law School Mediation Tournament.
INADR-SWPS University International Mediation Tournament
The International Academy of Dispute Resolution joined forces with our Faculty of Psychology and Law in Poznań to hold the INADR-SWPS University International Mediation Tournament from September 21 to 25. Twelve three-person teams from Poland, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Ukraine, Georgia, and India will compete in the contest. Each team member will serve as a mediator, as well as an advocate and a client.
During the first day of their stay in Poznań, the team members will participate in an intensive workshop on mediation and advocacy skills. The preliminary rounds will begin on September 22 and determine which teams advance to the finals.
Over the years, SWPS University's School of Law students have participated in international and national negotiation and mediation tournaments. As a lecturer and mediator, I know that learning through experience, through competing with the world's leading law schools, is one of the best education methods. Mediation scenarios used in the tournament are based on real-life cases. The participants have an opportunity not only to learn in action but also to enjoy an exciting adventure and establish international connections.

The tournament is held in English. Participants must be current higher education students, recent graduates (who received their degree no more than 12 months before the contest), or first-year legal trainees.
Two teams will represent SWPS University:
- Kinga Jałkiewicz, Aleksandra Wągrowska, Izabela Kuśmirek
- Anna Lewandowska, Marek Grabowski, Krzysztof Zarzycki
Dr. Tomasz P. Antoszek, a member of the International Law School Tournament Committee, is the supervisor of the event on behalf of SWPS University. In addition, members of the Legal Research Club Consilium affiliated with the Faculty of Psychology and Law in Poznań at SWPS University are involved in organizing the event.
