Since interdisciplinary studies and research projects are critical to making education and training relevant to the most pressing issues facing the world nowadays, modern universities increasingly often embrace the prospect of cooperation with institutions that complement their expertise. The collaboration between SWPS University, which excels in social sciences and humanities, and AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH UST) — the leading technical university in Poland — paves the way to joint interdisciplinary research and development projects. It is also conducive to developing a joint education offer in the fields of psychology, law, sociology, cultural studies, computer science, and telecommunications. Both institutions are looking forward to this partnership.
Interdisciplinary profile and cooperation between different academic centers are fundamental prerequisites for developing new study programs and for planning and implementation of research projects that address complex social or economic issues. Collaboration between our universities provides new opportunities not only for the academic community, but also for our partners with whom and for whom we want to carry out educational and research activities. For AGH UST, collaboration with SWPS University means expanding the scope of our activities, mainly in the disciplines of sociology and culture and religion studies. It also meets the current socioeconomic needs. For many years, following the example of the best technical universities in the world, we have been successfully cultivating the humanities at AGH USC. Even more so now, with the support of such a prominent partner, we will be able to develop new projects and implement new study programs.

Multifaceted partnership
SWPS University and AGH UST will work together to develop new study programs and establish joint task and project teams. The agreement also includes collaboration on developing student activities and organizing academic and scientific events.
SWPS University’s newly established Faculty of Psychology in Kraków will coordinate the cooperation on behalf of SWPS University.
AGH University of Science and Technology is an excellent research university. It is also a technical university that recognizes the value of social sciences and humanities in developing technological solutions and academic teaching. This agreement gives us, at SWPS University, a lot of satisfaction and hope for joint future projects. On behalf of AGH UST, the partnership will be coordinated by the Faculty of Humanities, which for over 20 years has been successfully educating sociologists, cultural researchers , and socially-oriented computer scientists.
Our Faculty of Humanities has consequently pursued a research and teaching profile based on the collaboration between academics representing social sciences and humanities and researchers with a background in engineering and sciences, who work together on technological and social innovations. The cooperation with SWPS University will help us expand our interdisciplinary research even further. It will also broaden our education offer.
