The PACTT Science Business Innovation EXPO 2022, held in Łódź, Poland on May 18-19, showcased a range of innovative projects aimed at solving social problems. SWPS University was among the exhibitors, presenting such projects as a psychotherapy chatbot, a mobile app to prevent bullying, and a tool to improve text clarity. The event was organized by the Polish Association of Centers for Technology Transfer (PACTT) and inaugurated by the founder of SWPS University, Piotr Voelkel.
Social innovation is our specialty
Since its establishment, SWPS University has been committed to combining modern education with intensive socially useful research. The university's projects aim to creatively solve social problems at local, regional, national, and global levels.
This approach was demonstrated during the PACTT Science Business Innovation EXPO 2022, where nearly 100 institutions, predominantly universities and research institutes, presented their services, technologies, knowledge, and funding opportunities to entrepreneurs.
During the EXPO, SWPS University hosted a panel on "Projects for Social Innovation," presenting several solutions developed to address the challenges of the modern world. The speakers included Iwona Gawrycka (Director of SWPS University's Center for Knowledge Transfer) and innovation brokers – Piotr Ciszek, Krzysztof Rzeńca, Katarzyna Pasiak, Małgorzata Nadziejko, Norbert Szczepaniak and Patrycja Sawicka-Sikora. Moreover, during the opening ceremony, the founder of VOX Capital Group and SWPS University, Piotr Voelkel, gave a short lecture on the intersection of human touch and high tech.

Revolutionary solutions for modern world problems
SWPS University’s projects showcased at the EXPO included:
Fido – a psychotherapy chatbot which supports the therapeutic process using the Socratic method
RESQL – a mobile app designed to prevent peer violence in schools by enabling students to anonymously report acts of bullying to the teaching staff
Jasnopis – an app that evaluates the clarity of texts, highlights complicated fragments, and proposes amendments aligned with the needs of addressee groups
Anti-stress game – a psycho-educational board game designed to help players overcome stress
Milamind – an innovative tool for managing psychological questionnaires
Icy Galaxy – a food grade silicone mold for making sphere-shaped ice balls with spiral indentations that evoke the Milky Way, witch won a prestigious Red Dot award
Plishka – a tool for managing the production, consumption, storage and sale of electricity
Signalink – a system for secure and anonymous reporting of violations of EU law
Zoddy – an app supporting the creative process by suggesting the best tools to use at a given phase of a project
About the Polish Association of Centers for Technology Transfer
PACTT is an association of major Polish universities and research institutes, including technology and medical universities. It gathers representatives of technology transfer offices responsible for protecting, managing, and commercializing intellectual property. The association has over 75 members, including SWPS University.
Its goals include integrating the professional community dealing with knowledge and technology transfer in academia, exchanging knowledge and experience, developing the practical competencies of technology transfer center employees, and representing its members before public administration bodies and employers associations.
