Celebrating together across Europe
On the first anniversary of the coming together of eight universities from various European countries, the ERUA alliance reflected on the first year of its activities, celebrated achievements of the past 12 months, and prepared for the tasks and challenges of the upcoming year.
During the joint online opening ceremony, the ERUA Board of Rectors, presided by the new Chair — Prof. Dr. Inga Žalėnienė, Rector of the Mikolas Romeris University in Lithuania — welcomed students from all eight universities in a meeting held at the University Paris 8 in France. The opening address was followed by a classical music concert performed by a string quartet from the University of Macerata in Italy. After the concert, all ERUA students and academics had the opportunity to participate in a lecture on disinformation titled “How to Dissolve the Truth in 7 Simple Steps? The European Experience of Disinformation, which was broadcast from SWPS University in Warsaw, Poland.

Local celebrations at ERUA member universities
The rest of the day was filled with various events, including meetings with ERUA Ambassadors, presentations on mobility opportunities for students, an ERUA Quiz, DigiTalks on student organizations, and the Entrepreneurship Conference.
Additionally, SWPS University hosted 26 guests from Ukrainian universities (with more joining online) as part of the project titled “ER-UA Strengthening cooperation with Ukrainian universities within the European Universities Initiative”. This endeavour, funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), aims to foster collaboration between the ERUA Alliance and partner universities in Ukraine with respect to international education opportunities.
At the end of the day, all ERUA members came together online, once more, to cheer the successes of the past year and to officially close the ceremony.
We all look forward to another year of collaboration and advancing the creation of a shared university campus for ERUA members.
