European Union of Private Higher Education
EUPHE is the European network of non-public higher education institutions. It represents about 700 non-state higher education institutions with around 1.4 million students.
The statutory goals of EUPHE are:
- to advocate for the interests of non-public higher education institutions on the European and international level
- to develop common positions of non-public higher education institutions in Europe
- to monitor higher education policies in the European Union and its initiatives in this area
- the exchange of experience and standards of good science in non-public higher education
Recently, the General Assembly of EUPHE approved the appointment of the new President, Prof. João Redondo from Lusíada University of Lizbon (Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa), who replaced Prof. Klaus Hekking from the Germany's Association of Private Universities (Verband der Privaten Hochschulen).
Being entrusted with the position of Board Member of the European Union of Private Higher Education is a great honor for me, but also an immense responsibility. The Union at this point represents as many as 700 non-state higher education institutions. This appointment to the Board also shows how SWPS University’s international position has improved.
