Scholars support the SME sector
The Scientific Council is a consultative and advisory body to the SME Ombudsman, an institution safeguarding the rights of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The council includes 19 academics from the leading Polish universities and faculties of economics: Jagiellonian University, the University of Lodz, the Lodz Film School, Vistula University, the University of Economics in Katowice, the Krakow University of Economics, the Poznań University of Economics and Business and WSB University in Wrocław, among others. It is chaired by Prof. Jan Klimek from the SGH Warsaw School of Economics.
Professor Katarzyna Januszkiewicz, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences in Warsaw, is the second scholar from SWPS University appointed to the council, after Dr. Dariusz Kowalski from the Faculty of Law in Warsaw.
The council’s primary responsibilities include consulting on draft laws and legislative proposals, as well as supporting the ombudsman in maintaining an effective dialogue and conducting extensive consultation with the academia.
About Professor Katarzyna Januszkiewicz
Katarzyna Januszkiewicz, Ph.D. / Associate Professor, is a psychologist specializing in organizational and managerial psychology. Her research interests focus on organizational behavior, including behavior change (e.g., flexibility, professional paradigm shift, and diversity at the workplace) and research methodology related to social aspects of management (professionalization of research methods and techniques).
She participated in several research projects on employee professional development and organizational culture. Katarzyna and her team developed their own concept of analyzing correlations between organizational solutions and employee behavior.
She has received numerous awards for her scientific activity and contribution to the university’s development. In 2014, she was awarded the prestigious Bronze Medal for Long Service, conferred by the President of Poland for long and honorable service to the state. In the period from 2011 to 2013, she was appointed twice to the Young Scientists Council by the Minister of Science and Higher Education.
