The Department of Graphic Design at SWPS University hosted an international course "Legal Design: Access to Justice", supported by Amnesty International. The initiative was part of the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program. Explore the virtual exhibition showcasing the artworks created by students involved in this project.
Raising awareness through art
During our workshop, students from various universities had the opportunity to create posters and postcards aimed at raising awareness of social issues.
The Blended Intensive Program on Legal Design and Access to Justice invited students to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration on human rights and social justice. Organized as a creative, guerrilla-style workshop, it brought together participants from the University of Zaragoza, Poliarte, Yeditepe University, and SWPS University. The program, supported by Amnesty International and hosted by the Department of Graphic Design at SWPS University, focused on promoting the International Letter-Writing Marathon. Over five days, students—guided by an international team of experts—developed conceptual storytelling solutions aimed at raising awareness, fostering sensitivity, and disseminating knowledge on issues of human rights and social justice.

At the course, students explored new design and research tools introduced by professors and used them to create research and empathy maps. To gather inspiration for their projects, they also visited the Four Domes Pavilion, a branch of the National Museum in Wrocław.

After that, they attended a briefing with a representative from Amnesty International, which gave them a chance to ask questions and engage in a discussion. The intensive group work resulted in innovative projects, which were showcased at the virtual exhibition:
International collaboration
The students who took part in our BIP came from various distant locations, including:
- Yeditepe University, Turkey
- Poliarte Academy, Italy
- University of Zaragoza (UniZar), Spain
- SWPS University, Poland
The project was supported by academics from the following institutions:
- University of South-Eastern Norway (USN)
- Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia
About our project partner
Amnesty International provided the subject of the project. The Letter Writing Marathon is the world's most extensive human rights campaign. Every year, around International Human Rights Day, millions worldwide join forces to speak up for specific people whose rights are violated and change their fate. It encourages people to write letters to decision-makers who impact the fate of our heroes and heroines, and to send expressions of support to them and their loved ones.

Blended Intensive Program (BIP) courses
Our course was organized as an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program — a short-term international study program that combines online meetings with face-to-face collaboration. The program is aimed at students who are interested in innovative educational methods and international cooperation.
The “Legal Design: Access to Justice” course was not the first BIP program at SWPS University. Our Faculty of Psychology and Law in Poznań hosted a BIP summer school "Right to Mental Health" and our Faculty of Humanities in Warsaw organized an international course “When Japan Meets Europe”.
